Meet Dr. Sean
Patterson
The following is taken from an interview with Dr.
Patterson.
Where did you go to school?
I went to school in Sonoma County and
finished up my undergrad at Sonoma State University. Sonoma
County offered much in the way of alternate healing and
therapies.
I attended Life Chiropractic College
West, because the President really had a pulse on the Wellness
Revolution. I learned not only to care for the spine, but
I learned the body's physiology, biochemistry, hormones,
neurology and much more. I truly was able to become a
doctor. It is sad to me that most Chiropractors are satisfied
with only dealing with aches and pains when there are so many
people in need of what we know.
The Wellness Revolution is basically a
change in how people "do" health care. The baby boomers
refuse to get old and suffer the way many of their parents
did. There are far too many ant aging therapies and
lifestyle changes that can reactivate the fountain of
youth.
Chiropractic is leading the charge in the
Wellness Revolution. Renowned author and economist Paul
Zane Pilzer summed it up beautifully in his book, "The Wellness
Revolution", that is predicting a revolution of healthcare as
we know it. I have positioned myself to be a leader in this
revolution and help people discover wellness.
Why health care and not something else? Health
care requires a lot of dedication.
I always knew I had the gift healing and
encouraging. I would rehabilitate injured animals as a small
child or put my hands on people's injured joints and make them
feel better. I realized that there was so much healing that
begins with touch and observation.
People are NOT defined by their symptoms;
however traditional allopathic medicine seems to want to label
people by their illness.
I have never gone the path of least
resistance. Health care is definitely a tough environment
if you buck the system of Drugs and Symptom Based Care.
However, there is NO health care system in the world that can
change lives like the one I have adopted.
What have been your biggest
influences?
My biggest influences have been
innovators and authors. Those not afraid to suffer to get
their message to the public.
Some of the people who that have inspired
me and changed my life are as follows: David Hawkins,
Karol Truman, John Brimhall, Eric Berg, The Coen Brothers, Dan
Kennedy, and my family to name a few.
I don't get too deep into politics and
health care as the laws go. I know we are told a small fraction
of truth in our culture. I believe we are truly an
oppressed society. A culture oppressed by debt, power and
control. My goal is to educate people on the truth, no matter
the cost.
What has really moved you?
I believe that our medical system is not
only misinforming its patients, but its own doctors. Some of
the things that patients are told from their respected medical
professionals is outdated, inaccurate, and sometimes is
dangerous.
It really outrages me to see patients
suffering from side effects of drugs and surgeries they never
should have had. I am not mad at the individual practitioner,
but the system. Cancer, Diabetes, and Heart Disease is so
easily prevented through education and lifestyle.
However, our system waits until diseases
are present and then tries to "defeat" them through invasive
therapies. Why no prevention?
I am deeply moved and excited for people
when we are able to identify sickness that is developing and
cultivating before it becomes a life threatening disease. I am
so happy to have found some of my mentors when I did. Mentors
that can help me take the truth to the people.
You mentioned traveling. What impact did that
have? You commented how many overseas eat simpler less
refined diets.
I was blown away, that country after
county in Europe I witnessed people "doing life different".
Speaking generally, people are not as
stressed. They stay up late, sleep late, smoke, drink wine and
cappuccinos, and were merry. At the end of the day, they are
not obese, they look great, and Ninety year olds play cards in
the plazas, laughing and really enjoying life.
What is the difference I asked
myself? What are they doing different?
My answers were simple. They were simple.
They didn't work out 6 days a week, they didn't obsess, and
they didn't bottle up their stress like we do in America.
That is why I put such an emphasis on
helping the emotional systems of the body to heal and teach
people to recognize when there emotions and spirit are
stressed.
To sum up what I learned from traveling
to more than 13 countries and 30 cities that year: Stress
Kills. It robs us of our health and our quality of life.
My goal: to help you remove the barriers
physically, emotionally, hormonally, chemically, and
structurally that is causing your stress!
Successes? Awards, special
mentions?
Personally: I have competed in two
bodybuilding and physique transformation events.
I am married to a terrific spark plug
named Renee and have been blessed with three boys; Carter,
Keenan and Cole. I have Dedicated hundreds of hours helping the
youth of my communities.
Professionally, I have trained with the
world's best alternative healers. I received my Doctorate at
age 27 and went on to start, own and operate three successful
wellness centers by the age of 33.
Failures that you learned from and continued
on?
Failure: Trying to get people well and
still follow the guidelines of Western Medicine and their
counterpart, their "best friend" the Insurance Monster.
I have learned that there is a cost for
getting well and for breaking free of the medical machine.
People who break free usually have to invest a lot of time
educating themselves, fighting doctors oppressive diagnoses and
recommendations, arguing the facts with insurance companies,
and paying more out of pocket than their friends who just
accept being ill.
I finally gave up the uphill battle of
dealing with insurance companies and their rules. I opted
out of all those controlling contracts where someone behind a
desk was telling me how to treat my patients.
I now offer such an amazing system of
care that my patients are thrilled to be out of that broken
system. Now we can focus on THE PATIENT, not the Rules and Laws
of Western Medicine.
What is your professional specialties and
why?
My niche is very simple. 90% of my
clientele is baby boom women and their children. I have
extraordinary results with men too, but to be honest women are
the most mismanaged and I feel that by directing my efforts to
them, I affect more people.
My biggest successes come from using my
knowledge and applying it to Weight Loss, Chronic Pain,
Insomnia, Hot Flashes, Adrenal Fatigue and Digestive
Disorders.
For this interview, any specific message you
would like to discuss or get across?
YES! Health is NOT the absence of
symptoms. The World Health Organization defines Health
as: Optimal Social, Mental/Emotional, and Physical
Health.
Please take the time to have a wellness
specialist evaluate your body using state of the art
technologies. "An ounce of prevention is worth more than a
pound of cure".
Who is the real Dr. Sean
Patterson?
Lastly, I don't want to hide who I am. I
am a real person. I have no desire to be wrapped up in ego and
pride.
I try to practice what I preach. We are
all in this together. I respect rules, but accept them as
guidelines, not absolutes.
I believe we all have a purpose on this
earth, and that purpose is to redeem our hurts, maladies and
upsets for something better, something God given; Peace, Love
and Wellness.
I believe that what has led me to my
success is the ability to actively listen, observe and
act. This allows me to draw from a multitude of healing
arts to properly provide someone what they need, when they need
it.
Sometimes the truth is messy, hard to
accept and requires work. But as it has been said before, "the
truth will set you free". Life is yours. Grab it tightly and
hold on for it can be a wild, but exciting ride.
